Unique Empordà
Discover a different way to explore the beauty of the Empordà region. How about a horse ride on the beach? Or enjoying the views from a hot-air balloon? If you like water activities, you can go kayaking on the Ter river, snorkelling by the Medes Islands, discovering the coves in the Costa Brava on a sailing boat or going on excursions on boats with glass floors.

Hiking and Nordic walking
The plain of Baix Ter is an agricultural area in a stunning natural setting, with dirt roads aplenty, perfect for practising Nordic Walking; and the mountainous area of the Montgrí Massif is ideal for trekking. Natural spaces
We’re in the Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park. This vast park contains 3 very different types of landscapes: the Montgrí Massif, the Medes Islands and the marshes of the Baix Ter and rice paddies of Pals.

Medieval towns and archaeology
There are many itineraries which go through some of the most beautiful medieval towns in Empordà: Pals, Peratallada, Monells, Cruïlles, Ullastret, Palau-sator, etc. The old towns of Torroella de Montgrí and La Bisbal d’Empordà are also of medieval origin.
Other interesting places to visit include the Iberian settlement of Ullastret and the ancient Greco-Roman ruins of Empúries.

Museums
Remember to visit the “Dalí Triangle”, which includes the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres, the Gala-Dalí Castle in Púbol and the Dalí House in Cadaqués. In Torroella de Montgrí, you can visit the Mediterranean Culture Centre, which has a lot of information on the local area. Other interesting museums in the area are the Jam Museum in Torrent, the Terracotta Ceramics Museum in La Bisbal de l’Empordà, the Fishing Museum in Palamós and the Anchovy and Salt Museum in L’Escala.
